In spring 1988, Miles recorded the song “Dune Mosse” (roughly translated “Shifting Dunes”) at the Hit Factory in New York with Italian superstar Zucchero (“Sugar”). However, the tune would not be released until the 2004 on the album Zu & Co (so-called because Zucchero performs with a host of stars including, Sting, Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker and Pavarotti).
Limited editions of the album included some video footage of Miles and Zucchero performing the tune. Now, anyone can see it thanks to the release of this DVD. It features Zucchero performing the song live at London’s Albert Hall in May 2004 (with Miles’s horn sampled) and also features a promo video. The video (shot in black and white) features Miles and Zucchero on stage and in a social situation. There’s also footage of 1920s America. Also included is Zucchero recalling how he met Miles and got to perform the tune with him. There’s also a hilarious incident when Miles and Zucchero set off for a restaurant in New York late at night!
